A Hot Toddy recipe for whenever you need something warm and a little boozy.

Theda finally started at her brother’s school about a month ago, which means our house has been struck by one round of Daycare Crud after another. Thankfully I managed to avoid the first several iterations, but this most recent illness that she brought home — which, mind you, ended up as ear infections for both her and Ambrose — is more catching.

I’m congested. The baby is hacking. We’re all a mess here. Thank God for Sudafed.

Except there is one eensy weensy little problem I have with Sudafed: it’s a stimulant. So if I take it at bedtime, I spend my night tossing and turning. Not great for recovery, right?

Enter: the toddy! Not only does it knock me right out, but it’s also super warm and comforting, and the lemon, ginger, and honey help soothe my sore throat. The whiskey, of course, is optional. Alcohol personally messes with my sleep, so if you prefer to teetotal before bed, the drink still tastes great without the added liquor.
