IT HAS POCKETSSS

Two Romper Reviews from Amazon

I’ve always sort of been anti-romper. They’re impractical! If you’re out shopping and you need to pee, you essentially have to get completely naked in a public bathroom stall…cool. (There are some good cartoons out there that illustrate this very dilemma.)

Not only that, but they’re generally like, all one color. Boringggg. And they’re not very flattering on my body.

Or aren’t they?

The other day I got an email newsletter from my favorite Instagram minimalist mom, Denaye Barahona (seriously, she’s incredible — check out her podcast Simple Families and you’ll see why) with a recommendation for a romper she’s been loving from Amazon:

Last summer I purchased an inexpensive romper on Amazon. I try to purchase clothing from companies with better sustainability practices—so Amazon isn’t my go-to for clothing. However, I’ve found myself reaching for this romper multiple times a week. I wear it over my bathing suit as a cover up and I wear it out dressed up with cute shoes and jewelry. I love it because it’s easy. No buttons or zippers to mess with in the bathroom…stretchy…washes well…durable. I’m a fan.

I also generally try to avoid shopping on Amazon as well, but was enough of a recommendation to get me clickin’. And while I was on Amazon, well…I decided might as well try out another romper that came up in the recommendation matrix.

So they came, and guys. I’m a convert. I only intended to keep one, but as it happens, I can’t let go of either.

You can find this navy one here. No, that’s not even an affiliate link, because I’m not that fancy. This is the one Denaye (maybe I should call her Dr. Barahona!) gushed about that initially got me interested. I actually decided to order it a size down from what’s in that picture. Fits great, and like Dr. Barahona says, it’s stretchy, which means it’s awesome for nursing. Just whip a boob out and get to it.

This is the second one I ordered. Dare I say, I like it even better? The buttons are functional! Plus, stretchy fabric on this one as well — another great romper for nursing.

Both rompers are incredibly comfortable. Vegas heat is no joke, but I can lounge around in these and barely feel clothed. They’re also multifunctional, as Dr. Barahona stated. I can wear these as pajamas, if I want, and then I can wake up and throw on my huaraches and a pair of dangly earrings (or not — I do have a 6-month-old who is in the grabbing stage, after all) and look casually cute for school dropoff.

And, oh yeah. BOTH VERSIONS HAVE POCKETS. *adds to cart*

My husband thinks I look ridiculous, and maybe I do. I DON’T CARE. It’s all about comfort, baby. And speaking of comfort, stay tuned for my forthcoming-not-yet-even-ordered nap dress review post. How does Amazon compare to Hill House Home? I’ll let you guys know when I find out.
